Student Guide to IEPs

Self-Determination and Student-Led IEPsParticularly in elementary school, IEPs can take place without student involvement. Investing students in the IEP process and teaching self-advocacy is a critical life skill that will be explored in this module.
Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in Special EducationCulturally Relevant Pedagogy is a student-centered approach to teaching in which the students' cultural strengths are identified and celebrated. This module will ground participants in the importance of CRP and how it can be implemented in the classroom.

Setting Goals and Self-MonitoringThis module takes the goal-monitoring focus off teachers and shifts it to students. It will explore how to instruct setting reasonable goals and provide resources for teaching self-monitoring.
