HELLO |
My name is Jessica Reisfelt and I am a designer and developer of Virtual Learning Experiences and an online coach for Special Education corps members. I have been in this role for 4 years now and enjoy making connections with first and second year special education teachers.
I was a 2007 Bay Area CM and have lived and worked in the Bay Area until a recent relocation to the East Coast, outside of NYC. I am passionate about all things education and I also work part time for an app development company that focuses on creating math apps for diverse learners. |
WHAT WE DO |
Special Education is a vast field that encompasses countless teaching situations, navigating IEPs, and understanding how to best meet the needs of each individual student. This website is home to the virtual learning courses, including self-directed learning modules to allow busy Special Educators access content and create their own path of professional development at a time that best fits their schedule. They are designed for regional professional development use, particularly in regions with fewer special education resources. These modules will offer a variety of resources that Special Educators can use to build a toolkit of educational strategies and knowledge. There are more than 20 modules categorized by both release date and subject and each one focuses on a unique topic that is important to beginning teachers in the field of Special Education. |
MORE ABOUT THE SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMUNITY |
Formerly housed on TFAnet, the National Special Education Community included over 1500 members, primarily first and second year teachers that were seeking out support with SPED-specific classroom situations. Since our transition from TFAnet, we still offer virtual learning sessions that are designed to further your practice as a Special Educator.
